Childcare Foundation attempts to take children who are not in school and give them a place to begin to read and write.  There are millions of children in Africa who are not in school.  Some are not in school because their parents cannot afford to send them, some have to work in the market and other places to help support their families and some do not have parents.  Childcare Foundation provides free classes to some of these children in Accra, Ghana.  They then try to place them in regular schools.  They start in the morning and teach the children until early afternoon.  Many of the children then go to work, but at least they can begin to learn to read and write.  Childcare Foundation has 70 students at a temporary facility.  They are attempting to raise $11,500 to help build a permanent facility.  They are also seeking around $200 per student to place as many of their students in regular private schools as is possible.
